Ballerina

Tonight was Payton's first dance class. My mom gave all 3 girls a summer dance session and it started tonight. They are all in the same class and they were extremely excited. Our future ballerina's. They loved trying on the tap shoes and ballerina slippers. They paid attention pretty well in class, all though my child was the first one the teacher had to count to 3 on. That is somethin to be proud of!!! Yes I am very proud to be the mother of such a strong willed princess. We will see what skills they learn over the next 8 weeks, I will be sure to have a couple of pictures . Thanks Nana for such a good idea, they have a ball together.

Father's Day Weekend Celebration

I am one of the luckiest women because I have the most wonderful husband and he is the most loving father. We started our weekend celebration on Friday night. Mitch planned a night out for the two of us to celebrate our 8 year wedding anniversary. He surprised me with a sushi cooking class at the Culinary Institute. We spent the evening enjoying each others company and making more sushi then one person could eat. We had a great time and now can have our own sushi party. I feel ready to share my talent with the world.( not really, Mitch was much better at rolling the sushi than I was)

I still feel so lucky to have such a wonderful man as my husband. There are not many people that can say they are married to a christian hardworking man, that always puts the needs of his family before his own. I am so very grateful to spend the rest of my life with the man of my dreams. Following our wonderful evening together we spent a family day at the pool.

We are fortunate enough to get to use my parents pool as often as we like. We packed up the kids and made it to their house in time to put the boys down for their morning nap and then it was pool time with Payton. We had so much fun, within the first 15 minutes of swimming Payton learned how to jump off the diving board. Once she discovered it wasn't scary that was all she did over and over and over. Her cousin Roxanne and her had to have jumped at least 50 times. I need to figure out how to get her over there more often to swim so hard because it wore her out. This should be done everyday, then she might stay in bed better at night. Problem solved, huh??

The boys got up from their nap and we brought them in for a quick dip before lunch. Mitch got to see how the boys liked the water and take a break from throwing Payton, Roxanne and Aubrey in the water. After eating lunch the boys took one more short nap and Payton got a little more swimming time in. Then it was time to pack up and head home for naps.

We rushed Payton to shower her off and lay down before it was time for her to get ready for the father daughter dance with her daddy. She was able to sleep for about 1.5 hrs. That helped get through the evening. Mitch and Payton meet a couple other Dad's and their daughters at chick-filla for dinner. Then off to the dance. Mitch spent most of the time watching Payton run around with her little girl friends, but they had a good time together.

I could not ask for a better father to my children or husband. Mitch takes great care of the kids on the weekend nights while I am working. He gets them dinner, baths, reads books, gets them to bed, picks up the house. We are so lucky to have such a great man to lead us through life and help show the boys what kind of man to become and show Payton what kind of man to look for. We love you babe, Happy Father's Day

The First Swim

As I previously stated in my last post it is impossible for me to take all 3 kids to the pool on my own. On this particular afternoon my mom was going to be home and said she would give me a hand so Payton could go swimming. So we loaded up the kiddos and off we went for our swimming adventure. It actually went pretty smoothly. Obviously Payton got in right away. She swam for a while with her bubble ( her floatation device used in her swimming lessons) and mom and I fed the boys. I was so proud of her because she learned to jump in all by herself without someone standing in front of her. Now she is a pro jumps right in and then swims to the side. The boys played happily on the cushions in the shade for a while. Once that fun was over I decided to put their swim suits on and see how they like the water. They did pretty good, Cooper was much more relaxed then Cohen seemed to be. Just thought it would be a good time to start breaking in our new little fish. Being part fish is a requirement with my family.

Summer Day Fun

A day of summer fun at our house. Having three kids it is impossible to go to the pool by myself so we have come up with our own summer fun. The boys are loving watching Payton run around and play more and more each day. They can see everything so much better from this point. They love playing in their activity centers. Payton helps them push all the buttons and loves to make it light up and play music, which they love as well. We have also set up our baby pool out on the patio. It is the perfect size, the water gets warm and gives Payton plenty of room to play. After 4 -5pm the sun is off the patio so I can sit outside with the boys in the shade and let Payton play in the pool. She splashes in the water then runs over to the play set, then comes back to the pool. This will be our typical day of summer fun this year. I am blessed to get enjoy so much time with my wonderful children.

Bumbo

There are so many uses of a bumbo seat. I think they are one of the greatest inventions. We use our for a couple of reasons so far. This is the day the boys got to taste cereal for the first time. Payton got to taste it for the first time this year, since she did eat it when she was a baby. Of course being the big sister she doesn't want to miss out on any new adventures. Surprisingly she actually liked it and wanted more, but we told her she only got to try it once and the rest is for the boys. She then decided that coloring sounded much more exciting since she wasn't going to get to eat anymore.
They both gave the typical first reaction, scrunched up face and sticking the tongue out. Cooper warmed up pretty quick but Cohen was not as impressed. We have been feeding it to them for the past week and Cooper loves it, mouth wide open impatiently waiting his turn. Cohen now opens his mouth but has a harder time keeping it in and swallowing it all. He ends up pushing about half of it out and I have to try again. Once that happens Cooper gets upset because he thinks he is getting another bit before he does. It is quite the ordeal. This will help them put on some weight, maybe by 6 months we will be in double digits in our weight%.
Our bumbo seats are great for the boys to watch while I get dinner ready, wash bottles, clean the kitchen up. They just love to be able to watch us. They could sit there and knaw on their Stevie's, they love their Stevie's. We will also be using it shortly for bath time. They have about out grown the baby bath and will be graduating to the full bath tub just little sister. To be blogged about at a later date.
