9 Months

We have now hit the 9 month mark. This age is so much fun. They are all over the place and love to explore. The boys no longer like to hold still. I love to sit and watch them discover new things and pick what makes the loudest noise to band on the floor. They are generally very happy and love to play together. There is always some hair pulling or toy stealing involved. That is what makes brotherly love. Payton has been adjusting to the fact they now take her toys and slobber on them. She doesn't love it but is learning how to share. I keep reminding her it can all be washed. It might have to wait in line with the other 5 loads but it will be clean again.
The boys are loving cruising, our ottoman is their favorite piece of furniture to hold on to and bang things against. They have learned to walk and push Payton's shopping cart. I am loving the wonderful baby kisses they love to share. I am also very pleased that Cooper has learned to say "mama". Payton and Cohen learned Dada first, I am happy with 1/3 of my kids said my name first. I have been secretly brain washing him, it worked!
They both are able to feed themselves more and more things. Which is wonderful for me. Makes fixing dinner a little easier when they can eat at least half their meal on their own.

Cooper:

  • height: 29 1/2 inches 85%

  • weight: 20 lbs 45%

  • head: 18 1/2 inches 90%

Cohen:

  • height: 29 1/8 inches 77%

  • weight: 19 lbs 12.8 oz 42%

  • head: 18 3/8 inches 87%

They are still staying very close in their measurement. Cooper is ahead but not by much. They do love their playpen ( most of the time). They have also been enjoying the nice weather and got to swing in the back yard for the first time. They hold on pretty well and enjoyed a little swinging. I believe they liked watching Payton and the dogs run like crazy around the backyard best.

Family Fun at Deanna Rose Farmstead

What a beautiful day today. We had the pleasure of enjoying the nice weather as a family. Mitch had the day off today and started it with pictures of the boys since they are now 9 months(blog to follow). After that accomplishment we went to Deanna Rose Farmstead for the remainder of the morning. It was a perfect day to walk around and visit animals. Payton enjoyed herself and Daddy had a good time being able to go with us. The boys rode in the stroller most of the time looking around and enjoying their bottles.
Payton rode a tractor, fed ducks and goats, played on the play ground and of course had a scoop of sherbet. I'd say in the life of a 3 year old it was a pretty good day. As an adult I had a pretty good day. This is what life is all about enjoying the good moments and loving every minute.

Changed My Mind

Thanks to my wonderful grandparents the boys got their Christmas present early. Mema told me if it is easier on me and something to benefit them then go for it. There is nothing my babies need more than our love and to be safe. They have both of those and I have piece of mind. I have seen these large gates and never really thought I would ever get one. Yeah, well that has changed and it is the newest addition to my dining room. I know you are shocked that I would have something like this in MY dining room. You can all close your mouths now. I am handling it pretty well, not the best look and we all know how well I like things to flow. Yes most of you know how I love to have things organized. By the way my daughter is now telling me she needs to organize her toys or animals, poor kids, stuck with me as their mother.
Anyway, back on track. I am loving our new set up. I was having trouble being able to even leave the room. Cooper is all over the place quickly, and is kind of a bully. He pulls Cohen over and climbs on top of him all the time. I was nervous to run laundry upstairs, anytime I would hear crying I didn't know if it was because I left the room, or if a lamp was getting pulled over, or someone took someone toy. I don't have to worry about that now. The boys can crawl around and play with toys and I can feel at ease they are safe.
I am taking bets that I will have (2) 10 months old walking around. The boys are cruising around the furniture and always wanting on their feet.

Labor Day & Preschool

It officially feels like fall, Labor has come and gone, I am wearing jeans, and my daughter is in school. Where does the time go? Yesterday we had a family day. Once I got home from work we ate breakfast together and after morning naps were done for the boys we went to the park. The neighbors probably thought we were going out of town.

  7. blanket

We were only going to be gone for 2 hrs. Anyways we had a great time. Payton got to fly her kite for the first time. The weather was beautiful and the boys even had a chance to wear their K-State jackets. Our neighbors met us at the park also to just hang for the afternoon. We arrived home just in time for naps before everyone fell apart.

This morning was Payton's first day to preschool. She got up very well and we had breakfast and got ready. I of course had to take her picture before leaving the house. She had a great day and loved being at school. The tricky part is school starts at the same time the boys are ready for nap and I pick her up as they are usually eating lunch. So we are figuring out their new routine as well. Today they fell asleep in the car, of course without having bottles yet. They weren't very happy sitting in the car waiting for Payton to get out of class. They will learn. I only shed a tear to two but survived my first baby starting school. Kindergarten will be worse I am sure.
