5 Months

My sweet boys are 5 months old now. Everyday I love seeing those cute little personalities shinning through. They have gained a little over 1lb in the last month. Cohen now weighs 13.6lbs and Cooper weighs 13.2lbs. The boys talk so much and just enjoy hearing each other make sounds. There favorite game is playing patty-cake, they belly laugh so hard when you make their hands clap together. They become more intrigued with Payton with every passing day. I still feel like I need to pinch myself and wake up, but loving it all.

Survival of the Fittest

Just picture the truck packed to the fullest, luggage topper packed and backseat full of children. If you can picture that then you know how we looked last weekend driving to Des Moines, Iowa. We left Friday after lunch to make it to Iowa and get checked into our hotel so that we would make it to the dinner rehearsal between 6 and 7. We did make it on time, much to our surprise everyone traveled fairly well. We had to stop once to feed the boys, change diapers, let Payton go potty and get her snack and drink and then loaded back up and kept driving( in the rain the entire way). That whole detour took about an hour. After we got checked into our room and loading our whole house onto those rolling luggage racks we were able change our soaking wet babies. In the hour it took us to get from the rest stop to the hotel I am pretty sure the boys puked up at least 2 days worth of milk. They don't like to be in that position right after eating. Once we set up the pack-n-play and got them in dry clothes we got back in the car to go to the rehearsal dinner.

Our official name was,"You are the ones with the twins". Yes that was us, I think we must have stuck out a little bit. The dinner was great and the boys got passed around and loved the attention. Payton enjoyed getting to swing in the back yard. The boys were exhausted so they went right to sleep and never made a peep. Payton on the other hand could hear all the kids still playing at the pool. I forgot to mention that we stayed at a hotel with an inside water park. That was where the reception is held and where they blocked off a lot of rooms. The pool is open until 10:30 and she was able to hear them still playing and couldn't understand why she wasn't one of them.

She finally got to sleep around 11pm. She woke up a couple of times through the night ready to go swimming, but went right back to sleep. After waking up and having breakfast we were finally able to take Payton down to the pool activities. She had a ball and swam like a fish from 9-noon. She loved the slides and we introduced her to the grown up water slides and let her go down on our laps and she loved it. I think she went up and down at least 30 times. I was able to play for about an our or so while the boys napped. It was great to spend a little bit of time the three of us. That doesn't happen that often these days. She got worn out and took a nap before the wedding, while Mitch and I got ready. The wedding was beautiful and went well, no fits from our children to interrupt the ceremony, THANK GOODNESS.

The reception was a lot of work. I have come to realize that the fun of a reception disappears when having 2 babies and a toddler. Payton had a great time dancing with anyone that would dance with her. The boy did pretty good with the loud music, but didn't really fall asleep. Finally by 9:30 we called it a night and took everyone up to bed.

After a filling breakfast we loaded back in the car and home sweet home, here we come. We had to stop again once to do our feeding and changing dance. We made it home in time to unload the car, start laundry, Mitch mowed the yard and then it was off to work for me. It went well but very tiring, I am in no rush to do it again anytime soon.

Remember When

I celebrated my 29th birthday a couple of weeks ago. Yes I know, give me a break, you try blogging with twin babies and a 3 year old. As long as the event happened within the month I figure that is good enough. So as I was saying, my birthday. I remember long ago when I would plan the night out with all of my friends, figure out who was going to be the one driving, knowing I would have way to much to drink. I can remember these birthdays like it was yesterday.
Want to hear how I spent this birthday? Of course you do or you wouldn't be reading my blog. I did lucked out and got 3 dinners out of 1 birthday. That was pretty awesome. The night of my birthday my in-laws came over and cooked a wonderful meal for us. We had one of my favorites salmon on the grill. My caring wonderful husband even got my favorites, carrot cake from 3 Women and an Oven. Their dessert is to die for. The next night we got to eat at one of favorite restaurants, Bone Fish Grill with my grandparents. My grandfather told us last fall that they would take us out for dinner to celebrate getting through my pregnancy and celebrate that we had healthy happy boys. So we finally got around to that celebration dinner and it just happened to be the day after my birthday. The perfect way to go out and do all the celebrating at once. We got crazy volunteers to come to our zoo to babysit, thank you to Dee and Hayley for that.
The next week we had my birthday dinner with my parents. They came over and we all got to eat and chat a bit, which doesn't happen very often. It was very nice and I even had a surprise of a new Coach wallet and a pair of shorts,( that actually fit, is the best part). Mom just came back from vacation in Florida and went shopping at the outlets.... which lead to the new wallet.
My birthday celebration may have changed a bit, but I still had a great birthday with my wonderful family and wouldn't change it for the world. I even got my flower pots planted that day which was great, I even had my very own helper.

Happy Mother's Day

I have the highest honor of getting to be the mother to these 3 beautiful children. I can't think of a better day for mom's to think of how much of a blessing it is to raise intelligent, kind, loving, caring children. I had a wonderful mother's day. I came home to my family this morning from work and we all went to church together. I had a wonderful card and my favorite wine for a gift. Amazing my kids are old enough to purchase liquor!! ( Good job sweet heart) I fed my boys and took my nap before working again tonight. My top 10 list about being mom:

1. Having a loving husband to make 3 of the most beautiful children
2. Having my 3 yr. old run into your arms saying " I love you Mommy, or I missed you."
3. Feeding my boys and having them look up at me with their big blue eyes
4. Getting to cuddle and having one of the babies fall asleep in my arms
5. Cuddling in bed reading to Payton or saying our bedtime prayers
6. Watching them learn and master something new
7. Seeing their smiling faces, makes being sleep deprived go away
8. Hearing Payton telling me how beautiful I am first thing in the morning with bed head
9. How my heart melts just looking at them
10. Knowing I am here to help shape them to lead the rest of their lives

Thank you so much Payton, Cooper and Cohen for making me a mother. I am so proud to be your mom and love you all with all my heart!

4 Months

Time flies when you are having fun. My precious baby boys are so much fun and now they are 4 months old. Both of them have rolled over, of course I wasn't there to see either of them their first time. You would think having two babies I would have been able to see one of the events. They are full of smiles and squeals. Cohen has just started laughing out loud and Cooper looks like it will happen any minute. There check up at the doctors office went well.

Cooper
Height: 25 3/8" 70%
Weight: 12lbs 5%
Head cir: 16 3/4 50%

Cohen
Height: 25" 50%
Weight: 12lbs 3.2oz 8%
Head cir: 16 1/2 40%
They have started to take notice of one another. They will lay and look at each other and it sounds like they are starting to mimic each other with their cooing. It is still such an amazing blessing to have two beautiful and healthy babies, I am so grateful to help them grow into amazing, caring, compassionate men.

Who me? You want me to look at the camera?

There is my mommy!!

What mom, I am looking at you

Oh... you want me to smile

Well, OK this is kind of fun!!
