Pool Fun

We are blessed to have easy access to 2 different pools. We spend a good amount of our summer at my parents house in their pool through the summer. Payton has become a pretty good swimmer and loves the water. She took swim lessons again this summer and has turned into a fish. I think she would swim all day everyday if I would let her. She hasn't got as much swim time as she would like since I have been so sick. We try our best to get her pool time as much as possible. We spent a couple of hours yesterday at the pool together as a family. It was some much needed family time doing something fun. Payton loves to sing songs and play in the water. One of her favorites is " Ring around the Rosie". We had a good time and enjoyed the nice weather. It isn't too hot as long as you are in the water.

First Trimester

This week the babies will start to open and close their fingers, eye muscles will clench and their mouths will make sucking movements. If I poke my belly the babies will move in response, not that I will feel them yet. That will come soon enough. We are hoping that the sickness gets better now that I have past the 12 week mark. This week I have been pretty good, hoping to get some more energy back and I know Mitch is too. He has been my savior, doing everything around the house, grocery shopping because I hate the site of food. It won't last forever but feels like it is taking a while to get through. The babies are happy and healthy so far and that is the most important part. Now that my belly has started to grow I don't think it will take long before it looks huge. Hopefully I am not waddling to soon.

Best Friends

My daughter made my year yesterday. After getting up from her afternoon nap she was ready to go swimming. I got her diaper changed and we headed downstairs so I could load up the pool bag in the car and get her in her car seat. As we were walking through the kitchen she looks up at me and says " Momma you're my best friend." I just about died, it was so cute. I have no idea where she got it from. I told her that she was mine to and that she makes me so happy, she answered " yeah", like she was already aware of that information. I swear just when you think they can't get any more adorable, they surprise you. I love being mom!

Playtime

Payton enjoys playtime with Daddy. Talk about love for your daughter, he will even squeeze himself into her princess tent with her. His feet hang out the tunnel but he is in. She loves that Daddy gets in and play princesses with her. I don't think that Daddy will be able to fit in the tent with 3 other kids in there. Payton is enjoying all the attention while she can. When Payton has Daddy time on Sunday, she has so much fun. She doesn't even notice that I have been missing all day sleeping. She had really gotten into hiding and playing in tents, and playing dress up. Her imagination is really growing, which is so much fun to watch. Payton shows her dogs how much she loves them everyday. Even if they don't really like all the affection she shares with them.

Picnic

Friday night we enjoyed a great picnic dinner. Mitch arrived home a little earlier than normal and we picked up Subway sandwiches and drove to Shawnee Mission Park. It was a beautiful evening and not to humid out. I was actually feeling almost normal and could stand being outside for a little while. I absolutely love having picnics. We enjoyed dinner under a tree over looking a pond. Payton loves water so that had her very excited. I love the evenings that are so nice and layed back. We didn't do anything special or exciting but just spent a little family time together. It was wonderful and I cherish those moments.
