HATS
A couple of weeks ago I went to a bow party that a girl from work had. I have never been to a bow party before but they are very fun. She makes bows of many different sizes and colors and you can get them made to match any outfit that you have. So while we were there Payton was putting on everything she could get her hands on and we came home with bows, hats, and a too-too. She had a great time modeling for everyone.
Dining Room Makeover
So last weekend we finished painting the dining room. Thank goodness we do like the brushed pearl that we said we were going to put in the dining room. The hardest part was painting the ceiling, but we got it all done. The brushed pearl was a lot of fun, and I like the way it looks. I am getting really sick of painting but getting closer to being finished.

MORE PAINTING
When we decide to do something at the Lyman house there is not much time before we make sure we get it done. Yeah I am sure most of my good friends and family know how patient I am(not). We got the family room repainted and part of the entry way and we have also painted the dining room. I started with a new technique that I was shown at the paint store. Yeah he said it was really easy and would look great. Whatever, not so easy and totally look terrible. So by the end of the evening Mitch and I went to buy different paint so that we could fix what I already tried to do. We got the first coat on the whole room but it is a 3 step process so we aren't done yet. The room is going to have a brushed pearl look to it, I hope that we like it because I don't want to have to redo it a 3rd time. Once we have the finished product I will take some pictures and share with who ever is interested in seeing.

Labor Day Weekend
For the holiday weekend I gave myself a project to work on. I have finished my first wood makeover. I bought a kid table and 4 chairs a while ago from someone. It needed some work done to it, it was pretty beat up.
I sanded down the table and chairs and then decided to paint the table white and to paint each chair a different color. Orginally the chairs were 2 pink ones and 2 purple ones. Now I painted one pink, purple, blue and green. Now Payton has a table to color at or eat, do whatever she wants and she doesn't have to mess up my table. I had some good helpers along the way. My mom helped me a couple different times, my dad helped me with the top of the table and Mitch helped paint chairs one day. It was a lot of fun and I think it will get a lot of use over the years.

ABC's
Last night after dinner we did our typical nightly routine. I cleaned up Payton and then she played while we finished cleaning up the kitchen. She played with her puzzles and then she crawled up stairs and I followed for bath time. This is one of her favorite things so she is always excited about it. We grabbed some P.J's and into the bath. We washed hair and body and we have letters that stick on the wall in the tub. She always plays with them and I tell her the letter and what color it is. She doesn't really ever pay attention, but last night was much different she was very interested. As I said the letter and held it up she repeated me, I was amazed. We went through the whole alphabet. There were a couple that didn't come out just right like "W" for example but she did so well. It was so cute to hear her say all the letters. There is always a first time for everything and I am glad that I was there to hear her say her letters for the first time. Always such a proud mommy.
