Jack-o-lantern

The best part of picking out pumpkins is getting to carve them. Of course Payton and her Daddy had a great time making their scary face together. The boys were interested in the pumpkin for a about 30 seconds and then off to the next thing. Daddy ends up digging out most of the seeds because Payton doesn't like how it feels.

Preschool Fall Party

Believe it or not but I am Payton's room mother for her preschool class this year. No one had signed up and another mom and I volunteered the same day. Someone has to organize the events for these cute little explorers. The first party of the year went off without a hitch. We had all happy kids and everything was done in the allotted 45 minutes. We had snack time, story time, a game, and a craft. The kids got to make glitter pumpkin gourds to take home. They loved there Rice crispy pumpkin treats. They all enjoyed throwing bean bags into a large bucket for suckers. I was glad everything went well. Her teacher said simple and easy and the kids will love it. She was right it was pretty simple and worked well. I best save up some energy for the Christmas party because it will be here soon.

Haircuts

The rat tail has disappeared. Cooper had more of a tail than Cohen but might as well do both if I was going to do one. Who knew getting 3 kids haircut was such an adventure. It took around an hour and a half. The boys rested while Payton got her hair done first. Then Cohen went because Coop was still sleeping. Cohen loved Jennifer running her fingers through his hair to check the length. He was sitting so still, just in heaven. Coop was more interested in what was happening so he wanted to move to see the action. They look so handsome all trimmed up. Everyone did really well, I was proud of them. Payton looks beautiful not handsome.

Pumpkin Patch

Finally we made it to the pumpkin patch before Halloween arrived. I was starting to think we weren't going to make it, but we did. This year was a little bit more work then the previous years but everyone had a great time, I think. Payton ran around and played on the playground and visited all the animals. The boys enjoyed watching her run around crazy, wishing they could keep up with her of course. The did well in the back packs. Cohen wasn't a fan of the pumpkin shoot, it was to loud. Cooper wasn't a fan of the hay ride, because we stopped moving and he didn't like that Mitch sat down.
Luckily we keep Mitch around for these kinds of occasions because Payton wanted to ride in the wheel barrel, like she usually does. He was lucky enough to push the wheel barrel with pumpkins, a 3.5 year old, and Cooper attached to his chest. Thank goodness he's got some biceps or we would have been in trouble. Cohen very much wanted to eat all the pumpkins, yummy! We enjoyed the family time together. We even made it out of there before everyone decided they were starving and needed to eat. I better be prepared for next year because they will all be on foot. OH...No... then we are in for it.

The Bug

Cohen started off the fun with puking Sunday night. To follow was Mitch on Monday morning right when I got home from work. Cohen had it bad and I took him into Children's Monday evening to get him to stop throwing up. Finally once they gave him zophran he stopped. Tuesday around lunch Cooper joined in the fun. Cohen was so worn out he couldn't even crawl or hold up a toy. He just wanted to be held and slept for almost 6 hrs through out the day. Wednesday morning after breakfast Payton decided she needed some sickly attention and she joined in. I called Mitch home from work after that. I know I couldn't handle her puking, and 2 babies that just wanted to be held. Today Cohen has returned to normal and Cooper is better but still really fussy and just wants to be held. Payton is better but hasn't gotten her appetite back to normal yet.
Thank God,( I keep tell him too) that he has allowed for me to stay healthy. I am hoping he keeps it that way. What a week, I am ready for next week.

Colorado Springs

The first road trip with a family of 5 was a success. Luckily we didn't scare Mitch from ever going on another road trip again. I was a little nervous about that. Last Thursday we set our alarms for 4am, got the car packedloaded with bags and then sleepy children. They did great and went back to sleep until about 8:30am. Our hope of driving a couple of hours before everyone was up worked out well. Everyone did great all the way to Colorado Springs. We arrived around 4pm, after 4 Disney movies.
Stephanie was home to greet us. After unpacking and settling in we had dinner. Steph and Neil were great hosts and got to experience and evening with the Lymans. It moves fast... dinner, clean up, baths, bottles, bed. Once the boys were down we got drawn in to Payton's movie. Little Mermaid can always pull you in.
After breakfast the next morning we all walked to the park down the street. Payton liked how close it was. During the boys morning nap Steph and I went to yoga. We went to the studio where Steph teaches. I took 2 classes, 2 days in a row. That is a treat for me, I haven't done yoga since before being pregnant with the boys.
Friday Neil worked and the rest of us drove up Pikes Peak. We couldn't go to the top due to snow and ice, but we got up to mile 15 out of 19. It was beautiful to see all the trees, the aspens were starting to turn yellow. BEAUTIFUL!! I ended up driving, due to my motion sickness. I lasted about 5 minutes in the back seat with dramamine, then made Mitch pull over and trade me spots. Once we reached our highest point, we got out as quickly as possible to take a couple pictures and get the boys back in their seats. They had a couple different burst of crying on the way up, but overall they did great. It was just a little cold.
Payton got to help pick vegetables from Steph and Neil's garden. She has talked about it the last 2 days we have been home. She also got to help teach Huck ( their dog) that kids aren't that bad. He gets a little nervous around them and has a tendency to growl to let them know they are a bit to close for comfort. He did love all 3 of them during bath time, then it was ok to lick them to death to try to get as much water as possible.
Saturday we woke up to it snowing. It was our last full day and after yoga and lunch we went to Garden of the Gods. The snow had stopped and it turned into a beautiful day. We went through the exhibit and then tried to walk from there to walk through the garden. We ran into a few obstacles with the stroller and then Mitch decided to get the car and we drove up where we could park and get out and walk around.
Mitch and Neil carried the boys in the back packs, they made a really cute couple. Neil really liked all the attention he was getting! The boys stayed warm up against the guys and even took their afternoon naps. They were good sports with all the running around. We had a great afternoon, then headed home for some good grillin for dinner. We had even made a make shift play pin, where the boys hung out while we ate. After baths and bed the adults go to enjoy a nice card game. GIRLS RULE, (steph and I won)
We had a great time visiting with our friends. Sunday morning Steph and Neil took Payton to the park to burn some energy while Mitch and I packed up the car. We were able to get everyone and everything loaded in time to give the boys their morning bottle in their car seats and then they went to sleep for nap time. Took us a little longer getting home, we stopped a couple more times then we did on the way out. I drove the second half in the rain most of the way. They boys were done with the car ride by the end and cried off and on the last hour. Overall we had a great trip!
