To Be A Mom

Growing up I never used to think about how great it would be to be a MOM. Of course I knew I would hopefully get married and have a family but never thought that becoming a mom would be so fulfilling. Mom's do so much and expect so much less in return. Thinking back to all the times my Mom did things for me and was always so happy to do them. I can't remember her ever seeming to be tired or not wanting to help me with homework, or picking me up from a friends house late on a Friday night. My mom has always been a working mom, as I will be. She works very hard and always had, with that she always has time for her kids, and now grand kids. I know there are days when she must be so exhausted but she doesn't let it show and is always there for us whenever she is needed.
I am hoping to live up to these standards. I want Payton to look back and think that I was always happy and not crabby. I want her to know that I will be there for her anytime she might need me, even if it for the smallest favor or just to listen.
I feel so blessed that my wonderful husband made me a mother and am very grateful that I get to be Payton's mother. I don't really think Mother's day is a extra ordinary holiday because it is such a treat to be a mother everyday of the year. It does how ever allow people to stop and think about their mother's and hopefully appreciate all that their mother does for them. God did a great job at letting us overflow with love for our children. I thank you for that!

Garage Sale Season

It is not spring time if you don't get to drive around on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday morning and see garage sales everywhere. Our neighborhood is no different than any other. This weekend is our garage sale so I have spent this week going through clothes and random junk in the basement. I hate getting started on messes like that but then love it once I am on a roll and get everything looking all nice and neat. Yes, we all know that I am on the anal side just a little bit.
I was proud that I got my stickers to price everything last weekend, I even got one pack with priceses. written prices on it. That made my job a little bit easier, and then once they ran out I had to write my own prices down. Call my lazy the other way is easier. Hopefully all goes well and when it is all over, we will be on our way to Florida that night!!!
