Over the past week or so we have been attempting to show our daughter who is boss. So far not working out all that well. She has decided that she should go to sleep when she wants to and that she should not take naps. Her bedroom has gone from being a cute little girls bedroom with her dresser decorated and a bookshelf full of fun and a basket with stuffed animals overflowing it. It now is empty with a bed in it and no toys a t all. One afternoon she pulled out a poopy diaper to play with. I took out the diaper pail also, obviously. She gets out of bed at night over and over 45 times and we keep putting her back in bed over and over and over again. She now gets her "lovey" taken away when she gets up after a warning, but that really isn't working either. So she doesn't take a nap and then stays up until 10:30 before finally falling asleep. Of course with all of the hours of sleep she is getting she is a ball of joy all day long, since she is so well rested. Mitch and I try to take turns of who is sitting at the top of the stairs to catch her and put her back into bed. She still needs naps because by day 3 of not having any she finally crashes and sleeps for 3 hours because she is so tired. I am sure she would fall asleep fine if she would just lay still long enough to let herself drift off.
We remind our self's how much we love 2 year olds. Then 5 seconds after making you want to scream she say something cute, " I love you so much Mommy!" Probably just to ensure that we don't harm her in anyway. Just kidding. I love her to pieces but man do you need lots of patience for 2 year olds. According to other mom's I hear that 3 is even worse. OH, can't wait for that although it's hard to imagine that sometimes. I have no idea where she got the bull headed genes from!!!? Her father or I aren't bull headed at all!!

New toys
Payton has joined in with some of our neighbors and has her own play set now. She usually tries to go to our next door neighbor because she wants to swing on their play set. Well now she won't have to, she has her very own in her backyard. We were blessed that a couple doors down, they bought a new swing set so we bought their old swing set. After Payton batted her big blue eyes at her Daddy this morning his plans changed for the day. Papa Jim and Daddy dropped everything to move the play set into our yard and out the neighbors because their kids couldn't stand it anymore and wanted their new play set put together also. Payton tried to be as patient as possible and finally after a couple of fits her new toy was ready to go. Thanks to her Daddy spending all day taking apart and putting together her new toy. Now we can stand and push her on a swing all afternoon. She is very excited and hopefully will leave our neighbors alone at least sometimes.

Easter Sunday
Easter was such a great day. What a glorious day to celebrate! The weather was beautiful, the kids enjoyed finding all their eggs. We had a wonderful morning of worship at church and then had the family over at our house for a fun filled Egg Hunt, and a great lunch. Payton had a great time playing with her cousins and they all tried to eat as much candy as they could get away with. All 3 of them looked like little princesses in their Easter best. I wish it was easier to take family pictures. Payton is at the stage where she really doesn't want to do anything that I want her to. Like hold still for a picture or smile, we try to look nice and capture it on film for later but she could really care less. I think the grandparents had just as much fun as the kids did watching them find all their eggs and to see how proud of themselves they were when they did find one. Payton would jump up and shake her eggs with a huge smile. It was a great great short afternoon. It ended just in time for me to take a short nap before I had to return to work that night.
What a cute bunny!
