Weekend Activities

This weekend I had off work, which was awesome.  It started out a little rocky.  On Friday we went to the neighbors house for dinner.  The kids and I were there waiting on Mitch to get home from work.  While getting food ready he called saying he had been in a car accident.  Luckily I was able to quickly leave the kids and go meet him.  Thank goodness no one was hurt.   He was coming home on I-35 and a couple of cars slammed on their breaks.  The car in front of him was able to slow enough not to hit them but Mitch wasn't able to slow enough not to hit them.  Our car went up under the end of their SUV.  Their trailblazer looked like nothing had happened.  Our poor little Acura didn't look so hot.  We got it towed and I was able to pick up Mitch and follow the car and then return to the kids.  Our wonderful neighbors feed our children and then had a couple of beers waiting for Mitch with his name on them.  We are so grateful no one was hurt.
Say a little prayer, car shopping is never fun.
Enough of that fun, then Saturday we played outside and had family time.  The main event was Payton's dance recital.  It was in Lawrence and we had to be up there by 3pm.  They had dress rehearsal and then a break for dinner.  We were able to take pictures and video tap during rehearsal but not during the show.  She was so cute and so excited.  She did pretty well, she liked looking around to see what all the other girls were doing.  The girls went up early and then the boys came right before showtime.  Nana and Mema came early with me to assist with taking pictures and video taping while I ran back and forth changing her outfits.  Daddy brought her flowers to give her when it was over.  She thought that was pretty cool.  The grandparents came back to the house when it was over for ice cream Sundays.
The next event was the Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney concert on Sunday.  I have been looking forward to this for a while.  I love Tim McGraw and I enjoy seeing Kenny as well.  I have been to most of their concerts in Kansas City.  A group of us all went and we had a great time.  Weather was perfect, warm but kind of cloudy so not to hot and there was a decent breeze in the air.  Tim looked amazing, as usual and sounded great.  Kenny was harder to understand this time he didn't sing into the microphone very well.  We still had a great night.
