A Great Start to the Weekend

I love fall weather! It is officially turning into fall around Olathe. We woke up yesterday to the windows open and feeling the cool morning breeze. I love being able to keep our windows open and enjoying the weather. ( Payton and I enjoy it a little more than Mitch because sometimes his allergies really bother him, but right now it's perfect) We decided to enjoy the beautiful morning by garage sale shopping. There are a lot of neighborhoods around us that are having fall garage sales this weekend. My neighbor Amy found me a great pair of snow bibs for Payton this winter for $2. That is my kind of deal. Ironically I found a snow suit for her baby girl on the way in a 2T for $2 also. So we just traded our purchases.

Garage sale shopping is a bit more difficult when you have the company of a 2 year old that is potty training. Overall she did pretty well, minus the lady that wouldn't let us use her bathroom. I had to squat down, and being a pregnant lady isn't always the easiest and hold her so she could pee behind the car. I could hardly believe that someone would tell a 2 year old they couldn't go to the bathroom.
After lunch and nap time I got to be spoiled and get my first pre-natal massage. It was heavenly and loved every minute of it. One of the best parts was getting to lay on my stomach with the magic pillows they have, it felt so nice.

This morning waking up this morning to the open windows and cool morning air. Mitch got up early and was up with Payton allowing me to sleep in. He made us breakfast and then we went for a short walk( since I don't do long at the moment) and tried out our most recent craigslist purchase. We got lucky and came across and double Bob stroller. I have been keeping my eye out for one and found this one. It looks like someone took it out of the box and never used it. I was in heaven and it works GREAT!!
I LOVE craigslist!! The boys should get lots of use out of it.

Potty Princess

Last week our Payton got a "big girl" haircut. It was really hard to decide to cut it short but it looks so much more full now with all the loose ends gone. It is amazing she just keeps looking older and more like a little girl not like my baby. She did very well sitting still while Jennifer cut her hair. When she was done she got her cookie, just like Jennifer always gives her.
My new look

Wednesday morning Payton woke up and said she doesn't want to wear a diaper and wants to wear panties like the big girl's do. So we put on some princess panties and the training began. Thursday morning was her last accident and she hasn't had one since. I am so proud of how quickly she got it. It is amazing what happens when I waited until she was ready. I have made 2 other attempts but she had no interest in stopping playing to pee pee. Once she made up her mind that she was ready it worked out so much better. Now we can still buy diapers like we usually do but newborn diapers to start our stash for the twins.
Payton's princess thrown where she does all her best thinkin. It even plays a
song when she potty's in it. She loves when that happens.

High School Reunion!!

Almost a month ago now, I had the pleasure of attending my high school reunion. It is so crazy that it has actually been 10 years since graduation. I had so much fun getting to see old friends and catching up on what people have been up to. Through the night it was almost as if nothing had changed and we were all just home from college catching up. On Friday night we were meeting up at Austin's, which we have all done many times before. Kristin and Steph came over early so we had time for just us to visit and then we meet up with some of the old gang. We hung out and drank for a while(well the ones who weren't pregnant drank). Then we headed up to Austins.
2 pregnant mama's my best girls, minus Laura Saturday night the fun continued with us all going downtown to the Uptown Theatre. We started the evening at Sara's parents house(sounds like old times). The majority of everyone decided to rent a party bus to take downtown so they could arrive safely and drink. Mitch already had a DD so we drove ourselves. I was excited to get a night out and didn't carry my huge purse like normal and took a cute little one with hardly anything inside. It didn't take long to realize that was not a smart move. From Sara's to the Uptown Theatre the boys got hungry and I didn't have my puke bags with me so had to get sick out the window and didn't have any medicine with me. I had been doing good all week so of course was unprepared. Once we got all of that mess under control, the remainder of the night was fun and enjoyed one more night of reminiscing.

Night at the Cirus

I know I am not very on time with my post but better late than never. So we went to the circus with our neighbors. The kids had so much fun. We went early so that we could be apart of the pre-show. They got to meet some of the dancers and see some tricks, of course the best part was one of the elephants was out for them to see. Here Mitch and Scott are trying to get them tall enough to see over everyone else to get a good look at the elephant.

Amy and I did good, we brought in candy for each of them, plus we had hidden a glow toy from Wal-mart, $1.99 vs. $18.99 to buy one there. They all ate their candy and played with the twirly glow sticks. Payton did pretty well, got a little restless towards the end but she did a good job. She almost was more excited about the glow stick than parts of the circus. We had great views of the elephants and tigers. She thought they were pretty cool.

Best Buddies

Payton had a morning of fun last week at our neighbors house. It was the morning of Logan's birthday. Logan and Payton are best buddies and love to play together. This special morning was Logan's birthday and he turned 3. Amy had got out blow up pools and a water slide. We hung out in the backyard and let the kids run around crazy. The neighbors behind them came for a little bit also. At one point Payton was the only girl out of 5. We are letting her practice being around a bunch of boys. She better get used to the idea because that will be her life her soon. They had so much fun together and they usually get along so well. Every once in a while we have a sharing issue, but most of the time they are both great.

Fetherman Visit

Around a month ago my cousin Megan, and her two girls came to visit. It was so great to have them here for a couple of days. Payton and Layla are only 4 months apart and had a ball playing together. I also got to see what it's like to have two, two-year olds at the same time for 4 days. One moment it would be great and the next moment total chaos. It was just tough love and became best friends. We also pulled back out our baby gates because miss Eve was a little crawler all over the place.

We celebrated the the August birthdays together for Mitch, Megan and Tyler. The girls liked the ice cream cake just a little bit. The girls were going to have a swim party also, but it was a little rainy outside.

We were all so blessed that Megan took the time to come to Kansas to visit us all even though she really went to Indiana to visit her Dad. I can't wait until our next visit. Megan and I are practically like twin separated at birth. We had a ball.
